 | | Devamrta Swami | A car crash in Los Angeles in mid April left disciples of His Holiness Devamrta Swami anxious. He had travelled from New Zealand shortly before the incident.
The accident did not prevent Devamrta Swami, who is known for his dedication to preaching, from proceeding with his hectic itinerary. He flew to Chicago, then to Manchester, England, drove to Cardiff in Wales, then to Swansea in Wales. London was the next stop before flying to Frankfurt, Germany, driving to Weimar in East Germany then on to Berlin, back to Frankfurt then leaving for Helsinki in Finland. It was here that Devamrta Swami felt dizzy and unwell. Doctors and a neurologist were concerned as the whiplash from the crash had left him in a pre-stroke condition. Devamrta Swami’s condition is now stable.
Devamrta Swami is a Governing Body Commission member and has a number of disciples, some are in Australia and New Zealand.

Yasoda Dulal’s personally sculpted tribute to departed vaisnavas Tamal Krishna Goswami and Vrndavanesvari, is a gift out of about $16,000 worth of Italian Terrazzo donated by Hanmer Marble. The bull (above) now sits regally in front of the Memorial Garden beside the Auckland Radha Giridhari temple. The bull is symbolic, with its four legs representing mercy, truth, cleanliness and austerity.
Yasoda Dulal is based in Papanui, Christchurch, and wanted to thank the local businesses that donated time, materials and transport for the sculpture.
