New Varsana, (Srimati Radharani’s abode) was officially open on 18th January, 2004. Situated on 100 acres of farmland at 1229 Riverhear-Coatesville Highway (28) is Sri Sri Radhagiridhari’s new abode in New Zealand.
The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) was inaugurated in New Zealand in 1972 at Landscape Road, Mt Eden where Srila Prabhupada (our Founder Archarya) on His first visit to New Zealand, installed Sri Sri Radha Giridhari.
As the number of devotees and visitors grew, the centre was moved to Gribblehirst Road, Sandringham where Srila Prabhupada on His third visit to Auckland in 1976 installed Sri Sri Jagannatha, Baladeva and Subhadra and Sri Sri Gaura Nitai. Demand for more space saw the centre relocated in Kumeu and the beginning of new era.
