Saturday 10 June, 2006 was World Holy Name Day and to celebrate, a 24 hour kirtan (chanting) at the temple was organised by Rasparayan and a harinam (chanting party) was organised by Kalasamvara. Around 30 devotees sang and danced down Queen Street, around the water front to the marina, returning to Food for Life Restaurant. It took around two and a half hours and was led by Kalasamvara, Janananda and Sridama. Devotees from the temple and nama hatta groups, were joined by the girls from the Loft preaching centre.

The 24 hour kirtan (chanting) began at the Radha Giridhari temple in Kumeu at 3pm and continued for 24 hours. A variety of groups and singers supported the event and Trivikram, one of the kirtan leaders, travelled from Katikati in the Bay of Plenty. The Sunday feast part of the programme was well attended with over 500 guests joining in the chanting and free feast.

Bobby Kahn the presenter of a programme called "Our People" on Triangle Television filmed the harinam and the free food distribution, and interviewed Padmasambhava and Nimananda. The 30 minute programme was televised during the following week. The last segment of “Our People” included a promotion at the end of the programme for the temple’s “Million Dollar Painting” fund raising appeal.
