ImageFree food to the public, and chanting in Queen Street, Auckland City to celebrate World Holy Name Day, were the subjects of a half hour television programme screened on June 14.

On Saturday June 10, 30 devotees chanted and danced down Queen Street, around the water front to the marina returning to Food for Life restaurant.

ImageMore than 800 people were given free prasadam by Nimananda and Suchitra who said it was an offering to their Spiritual Master, Tamal Krishna Goswami, for his Vyasa-puja (birthday).

Bobby Kahn the presenter of a programme called ‘Our People’ on Triangle Television filmed the event, and interviewed Padmasambhava and Nimananda. The 30 minute ‘Our People’ programme was televised the following week and included advertising about the raising of $1-million to free the Radha Giridhari temple of debt.Image

A 24 hour kirtan (chanting), began at the temple in Kumeu at 3 pm and continued for 24 hours. Singers organised by Rasparayan supported the event .Trivikram, one of the kirtan leaders said he had travelled from Katikati in the Bay of Plenty.

Over 500 guests attended the Sunday feast programme joining in the chanting and free feast. Image
