Despite Krisna?s Appearance day falling on September 7, a Tuesday, the packed Temple resounded to the exotic sounds of the Hare Krisna chanting.

The colourful Indian dancing together with entertaining dramas and a quiz kept the guests captivated while they were waiting for the candlelit midnight aratik (worship) of the deities.

It was a magical time, with the crowd competing for places at the front of the altar for an audience with their Lordships Radha Giridhari, Jagannatha, Baladeva, Subhadra and Lord Caitanya and Nityananda. The lights were extinguished just before midnight, and the chanting rose to a crescendo as the curtains were opened to reveal the beautifully decorated deities.
